Fox Launches Blockchain Creative Labs, Announces New Animated Show

As reported in The Hollywood Reporter, FOX Entertainment has launched Blockchain Creative Labs to integrate NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) into tv shows and other content.

They announced the first show to be part of this strategy, Krapopolis, from Rick and Morty/Community creator Dan Harmon. According to Fox Entertainment CEO Chris Collier, the show “will be the first-ever curated entirely on the blockchain. And just as we’re doing this for our own animation, we will also help your brands connect directly with fans and enthusiasts through NFTs. With and for you, Fox will help art meet brands meet technology.”

This includes a marketplace “that will curate and sell digital goods, ranging from NFTs of one-of-a-kind character and background art and GIFs, as well as tokens that provide exclusive social experiences to engage and reward superfans.”

The show is scheduled to premiere in Fall 2022.
